The culmination of three years study, this module brings together all of the aspects studied in the previous years – physiology, biomechanics, psychology and coaching – resulting in an analytical appreciation of coaching of the athlete in an attempt to elicit the greatest training response and performance gains. This independent case study of either a team or individual will consider normative data and respond to the demands of the sport in question through physiological, psychological, technical and tactical evaluations. The student will make use of various technologies available in the analysis of the performance and make and present their recommendations both orally and in written prose, evidencing their methods and critically examining the data collected and the data collection process. The result is a critically appraised assessment directed towards a real life situation of the student’s choice, an excellent complement to the experimental dissertation it runs alongside.
