An understanding of basic laboratory techniques is essential for anyone involved in the animal industry. The first aim of this module is to equip students with basic skills in a variety of areas, including weighing, making solutions, pipetting, making and loading agarose gels, plating bacteria. The second aim of this module is to equip students with knowledge and practical experience in writing reports from setting up or a practical right through to data synthesis, and being able to recognise strengths and weakness in their work, and providing recommendations.
