This module examines the close relationship between garden theories and the arts throughout the history to the present day. The strong dialogue between garden design and the artistic influence will be examined through the theoretical and historical references. The application of the theory will be manifested as a reference to land art, environmental and ephemeral art, and sculpture, along with the performing arts. Working on site and with various communities students develop creative skills while adopting a self- reflective approach to working artistically with landscape and with others. Theories will provide a strong critical and evaluative approach to the contemporary garden design applications by analysing historic and contemporary examples of both designed landscapes and other art forms.
